Loropetalum Chinense Standard is an evergreen tree with unusual white fringed flowers in early spring. It’s a beautiful wildlife-friendly specimen tree for compact gardens. This is a standard form of Loropetalum with a single straight trunk absent of lower branches for the first 1.8 metres. It looks stunning in a mixed border or as a specimen in the lawn or front garden.
Often called the Chinese Fringe tree Loropetalum Chinense is native to China and the Himalayas. It was first discovered and brought to the UK in 1880 by Victorian plant hunters and was instantly popular for its long petalled blooms that resemble a fringe.
