The Camellia Sasanqua species of camellia tend to form a large shrub or small tree. Sasanqua have dense evergreen foliage and tend to flower in autumn and winter as opposed to spring.
Camellia Sasanqua's have glossy dark green foliage which is happily pruned so they can be kept beautifully shaped as a shrub or standard tree.Care must be taken not to remove the flower buds when trimming. Camellias like well-drained soil preferably acidic. They can be easily cultivated in planters as they grow fairly slowly and can then be planted with ericaceous soil and fed regularly with Camellia feed.
We also stock many other winter flowering Camellia Sasanqua varieties, including Camellia Sasanqua Kanjiro and Camellia Yuletide and Camellia Sasanqua Cleopatra White, which is actually a white sport of Camellia Sasanqua Cleopatra.
