Camellias

Flowering Evergreens native to Eastern and South East Asia

Camellias are evergreen shrubs with showy flowers. They are woodland plants by nature, thriving in neutral to acid soil in semi shady positions. They like to be hydrated and don't like drought. They produce a profuse display of stunning flowers in early Spring - colour ranges from purest white through to the darkest pink and all shades in between. We have a small range of rare tree Camellias and some shrub specimens that make perfect - and beautiful - evergreen hedges. Camellia Japonica varieties flower in Spring and the Camellia Sasanqua varieties flower in autumn winter.
Read our blog post for in-depth information and guidance on planting and caring for your camellia, including details of soil type.
More information on best time to plant camellias

In addition to the more usual bushy shaped camellias, we also have several camellia varieties available as mature multi-stemmed tree shapes such as Camellia Japonica Hagoromo, Dr. Burnside and Nuccio’s Pearl. We also have Camellia half standard trees for the varieties Camellia Japonica Snowball White and Black Lace. We have three quarter standard tree shapes available for Camellia Sasanqua Sparkling Burgundy and Camellia Japonica Snow Ball.
