Camellia Black Lace
Camellia Black Lace is an evergreen shrub with an upright growth habit. It flowers in spring producing an abundance of formal, deep-red double flowers which last for several weeks. In addition to its showy flowers, Camellia Reticulata Black Lace has glossy, leathery dark green leaves all year round. This beautiful camellia with its truly eye-catching red flower is a reticulata hybrid and was developed in the 1970s as a cross between Camellia Williamsii ‘Donation’ and Camellia Reticulata ‘Dataohong’. It has a neat compact growth habit and is generally very free-flowering.
Camellias are often used in gardens as an ornamental focal point. Camellia Black Lace in full bloom with its formal rich red flowers is likely to be one of the more spectacular spring flowering plant in any garden.
As with most Camellias, Camellia Black Lace likes to grow in moist, acidic, well-draining soil. It will grow in a sunny or semi shady position.
Camellia Reticulata Black Lace are suited to growing in containers and look great on terraces, patios and balconies.
