Viburnum Tinus Lucidum Full Standard Tree.  Commonly known as Lucidum or Viburnum Tree, these evergreen trees have attractive glossy leaves on a long clear stem. These full standard shapes are perfect for above fence or wall screening, sometimes referred to as stilted hedging. They look beautiful when underplanted with a contrasting shrub such has Japanese Acers or Photinia Red Robin shrubs.
Viburnum Tinus Lucidum produces profuse white flowers in early summer on new bright green foliage, followed by dark berries. A vigorous grower, it grows at a rate of around 20cm per annum. It is very tolerant of pruning, which is why it is so well suited to this full standard form. In addition, Viburnum Tinus Lucidum is naturally a larger and glossier bush with larger flowers than for example the more compact Viburnum Tinus Eve Price, which again makes it suited to the full standard clear stem shape.
Viburnum Tinus Lucidum as a Full Standard tree is a fabulous addition to the garden, either as stilted hedging or an an ornametal addition. Use a row of full standards to form an airy outdoor garden room. This works very well in smaller gardens, as it is possible to walk beneath the crown and also to sit under its shade.
