Quercus Ilex Trees in Full Standard Shape. Quercus Ilex is also known commonly as the Holm Oak Tree and also the Holly Oak Tree.
The Holly Oak or the Holm Oak is a native to the Eastern Mediterranean. A naturalised oak in the UK it was introduced sometime in the 1500's and is one of the very few evergreen oak trees found in Britain today. Holm Oak lends itself well to shaping - the shrub/bushy part of the tree is reasonably fast growing (the stem stays the same height).
These Quercus Ilex full standard trees have been trained in the classic standard tree shape on a long clear stem with a crown of glossy foliage on top. They are easily kept in shape with an occasional (annual) trim.
