In spring pale green foliage emerges with silver tips and is soon followed by tiny pink blossom buds. The buds turn bright white as they emerge and if pollinated mature into eat-from-the-tree dessert apples that are ready to pick in late August and early September. Foliage falls with the frosts and leaves a bare but attractive pleached framework over the coldest months.
