Euonymus Japonicus President Gauthier (or Japanese Spindle Tree) is an upright evergreen shrub that has been trained on a frame, making it a perfect choice for a trellis or to grow up a fence.
Euonymus Japonicus President Gauthier has glossy variegated leaves with a creamy white margin and clusters of small pale green flowers that emerge in late spring early summer.
The Japanese Spindle tree is in fact an ideal shrub for dense hedging and screening. It will tolerate pruning and is not fussy about soil type. These plants are particularly heat and drought tolerant. If you live by the coast, Japanese Spindles are superb hedging plants as they do not object to the salty air.
