This is a most attractive rhododendron hybrid, an evergreen, compact flowering shrub with narrow dark green, glossy oblong-shaped foliage. The trumpet shaped flowers and have a gold blotch in the centre.
Try planting Rhododendron Scintillation with other evergreen flowering shrubs in a border. Rhododendrons can also be used as a floral hedge. They tend to look good in pots and containers for terraces and balconies.
Rhododendron Scintillation is particularly hardy and is both cold and heat tolerant. It prefers light shade, particularly to protect the foliage, which can suffer from sunburn.
To ensure your Rhododendron thrives, always apply a good mulch and mix to keep soil nice and moist. Feed your plant with a good ericaceous fertiliser, particular during flowering.
Rhododendron Scintillation can reach a maximum height and spread of 1.5 to 1.8 metres within 10 years.
