Rhododendron Roseum Elegans

Rhododendron Roseum Elegans is a hardy, medium-sized Rhododendron Hybrid with spectacular flowers in late May / early June of lilac purple in colour which grow in large perfectly rounded trusses (or clusters) of circa 20 blooms per truss. By contrast, the evergreen foliage is more of an olive green and is thick, dense and lush.

Beautiful Rhododendron Roseum Elegans is a vigorous grower with a dense and spreading habit. Other commendable characteristics are its tolerance of frost and sun, meaning this tough Rhododendron will do well even in exposed locations. And its flexibility doesn’t end there. Its toughness, growth habit and density make it an excellent windbreak. For similar reasons, it can also be used as a flowering hedge.

Not short of flexibility, this elegant pink Rhododendron (as the name suggests) is also perfectly at home in the urban garden or gracing the terraces of London in terracotta pots.

Rhododendron Roseum Elegans likes full sun and / or partial shade, and prefers acidic soil. It will reach a maximum height and spread in 10 years of circa 2 metres.

Feed your Rhododendron regularly with ericaceous fertiliser and don’t’ forget to apply a mulch.
