As a low-maintenance shrub with year-round interest, this evergreen plant is most useful in the garden.
Elaeagnus X Ebbingei Compacta has the dark green glossy foliage with a silvery sheen and an underside. The thick, leathery leaves are narrow and lanceolate, and stay unchanged throughout the seasons. The attractive foliage is complemented by a profusion of small fragrant white flowers in the autumn.
