Nothing helps build roots like good old-fashioned bone meal plant food. Westland Bone Meal is a completely natural plant feed that strengthens the root system of trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables. The reason why bone meal plant food is so effective is that it contains a high level of phosphorus, paired with a smaller amount of nitrogen and calcium. These organic nutrients will get released in the soil slowly, over an extended period of time.
The longer periods of release ensure that the plant takes up nutrients more efficiently, so this naturally sourced feed is very potent. Phosphorous ensures the roots of the plant grow strong and big, calcium encourages the overall health of the plant, and the nitrogen supports the foliage growth.
How and When to use Westland Bone Meal
For best results, bone meal plant food should be applied every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season (from February through to late October). The dosage will vary depending on the type of plant and its maturity.
Young trees and shrubs need circa 2 handfuls per plant. For best results dig directly into the planting hole.
For established plants sprinkle the Westland Bone Meal around the plant and water in. The recommended dosage is 4 to 5 handfuls per square metre of soil.
You can also use this natural organic feed to improve the quality of garden soil by forking in 3 to 4 handfuls of bone meal per square metre of soil.
