Viburnum Tinus Lucidum creates a lovely informal evergreen hedge. It can grow to from 2 to 4 meters tall but is easy to maintain through regular pruning to a height of only 1.5 meters (or any height of your choice) if desired. Each hedge plant grows approximately 1 to 2 meters wide. Viburnum Tinus hedging can be left to grow naturally in massive mounds or trimmed to shape so it fits well in any location. It works wonderfully as a windbreak or privacy hedge. The dense growth of this hedge plant also helps in noise reduction. The blooms draw a wide assortment of butterflies and bees to the garden. Following flowering, small red and bluish-black berries emerge in clusters. They are a favourite food source for songbirds and woodland creatures. 

The Viburnum Tinus Lucidum grows best in full sun but will tolerate partial shade or even full shade. These hedging shrubs prefer a moderately moist planting location. Lucidum grows well in clay, loam or sand. Exceptionally hardy, it can thrive in a windy or coastal location where other shrubs often struggle. If you need an evergreen hedge for an exposed location, then Viburnum Tinus Lucidum is a good choice. 

To maintain the size or overall shape, trim Viburnum Tinus hedging after flowering. Clip back the longest shoots. The shrub regenerates new growth from old wood. Also prune away any damaged, diseased, or overly congested shoots.  Dense and bushy Viburnum Tinus Lucidum is also low maintenance and resilient.
