Semiarundinaria Fastuosa - Narihira Bamboo (AGM)

Semiarundinaria Fastuosa (commonly known as Narihira Bamboo) is a graceful elegant bamboo, native to Japan that grows up to 6 metres tall. Unlike other tall growing Bamboo, Semiarundinaria Fastuosa does not run and it makes an ideal screening bamboo for especially tight spaces as while tall, horizontally (or in terms of width) it won’t take up a lot of space.

Relatively new to Western Europe, Semiarundinaria Fastuosa is already proving extremely popular in the UK among those looking for a tall evergreen screen, particularly for a narrow space. 

The thick green and straight canes of the Narihira Bamboo later mature to a mauve red in the autumn. It is also tolerant of shade. This is a slow to propagate variety of Bamboo and as such, it can be in short supply. At Paramount Plants, we have this extremely useful Semiarundinaria Fastuosa Bamboo in stock and in quantities. We are only one of a few nurseries in Europe who actually have decent 4+ metre tall specimens.

Semiarundinaria Fastuosa likes both full sun and shade.
