Dwarf Scotch Pine - botanical name Pinus Sylvestris Glauca Nana
A rather beautiful dwarf pine that has a compact globe habit. The blue / green needles on cinnamon coloured branches are very attractive. Dwarf Scotch Pine trees are very easy to grow and maintain and look spectacular in a Japanese or Zen style garden or in the conifer border garden.
Pinus Sylvestris Glauca Nana will grow well even in poor soils as long as it is well drained, you can allow it to take its own shape which is neat or it can be pruned to keep it really tidy and to accentuate its natural shape even more.
Dwarf Scotch Pine is an excellent choice for coastal or windy locations and these trees will also thrive on a roof terrace, making them a popular tree for contemporary urban garden design. As an evergreen these neatly growing trees will provide interest throughout the year.
