Magnolia Daphne or Yellow Flowering Magnolia
With a spring burst of gorgeous tulip-shaped, pale yellow blossoms, Magnolia Daphne leaves no one indifferent. Before the deciduous, mid-green foliage unfurls, a profusion of flowers graces the bare branches until the leaves appear to provide a perfect backdrop. A small and upright Magnolia cultivar, this variety was selected by a Belgian breeder, as a cross of two popular Magnolia varieties, Miss Honeybee and Gold Crown. The resulting new hybrid boasts long-lasting tulip-shaped flowers and a compact habit that makes it suitable for small gardens.
While yellow flowering Magnolias are less common than the pink and white flowering varieties, we do stock 4 more varieties of yellow-flowering magnolia, each with blossoms in the varying shades: Magnolia X Brooklynensis Yellow Bird, Magnolia Denudata Yellow River, Magnolia Solar Flair, and Magnolia Sunsation.
Height and Spread of Magnolia Daphne
