Lonicera Henryi Copper Beauty Honeysuckle Climber
This beautiful semi-evergreen climber has yellow bell shaped flowers that appear in mid summer. The newly emerging leaves appear in spring and are a bronze colour that gradually turn green as they age. The beautiful yellow flowers look stunning against the bronze and green foliage. After it flowers, this beautiful twining climber produces black and purple berries that are loved by birds. Lonicera Henryi Copper Beauty grows well on a trellis. It loves both full sun and partial shade. Lonicera Henryi Copper Beauty grows best in fertile humus rich moist well drained soil, but does cope well in any type of fertile soil. Max height 10m Max spread 2m.
Originating in The Netherlands, this Honeysuckle Climber feels at home in areas with milder climates. This striking cultivar is fully hardy in the United Kingdom, and it can withstand temperatures as low as -15 degrees. Although Lonicera Henryi Copper Beauty is frost hardy, to ensure this flowering climber survives even the more severe winters, choose a sheltered spot for planting. As with other Honeysuckle varieties, Copper Beauty attracts pollinators and wildlife and has been designated as Perfect For Pollinators by the RHS.
Vigorous, and with a fast growth rate, this Honeysuckle Climber will benefit from routine trimming. Even though extensive pruning is not necessary to keep this twining climber in check, make sure to trim unwanted or congested stems immediately in late spring. Easily trained, Lonicera Henryi Copper Beauty will look even more stunning if trained along a trellis, arbor or pergola, or even when left to freely cascade over fences.
A yellow-flowering, bronze-leaved variety of an all-time favourite, Lonicera Henryi Copper Beauty truly lives up to its name. Eye-catching and highly decorative, this semi-evergreen vine is at its best when trained along a support structure. Plant it near a patio or the garden’s seating area to fully enjoy the attractive yellow blossoms and bronze foliage. In case that you don’t have an arbor or trellis available, plant Honeysuckle Climber near a wall or a fence, where it can fully develop and roam freely. When this flowering vine is left without a structure to climb on, it will form an irregular shrub.
