Lonicera Gold Flame Honeysuckle also known as Lonicera Gold Flame or Honeysuckle Gold Flame
One of the more vigorous and certainly among the most fragrant honeysuckle varieties, Lonicera Gold Flame is a deciduous or semi-evergreen climber that leaves no one indifferent. Lonicera × Heckrottii 'Gold Flame', to give it its full botanical name, boasts a profuse and long flowering season that lasts from early June to late August. The blossoms are tubular and arranged in terminal whorls with a striking colour combination that draws the eye. Flowers are deep pink on the outside with a contrasting orange-yellow within the tube “throats”. The scent is very intense, vanilla-like and will spread throughout the whole garden and invite pollinators. The flowers are usually followed by red berries which are highly attractive to wildlife. Depending on the area you live in, the foliage will either fall off in the autumn or persist on this twining climber if the winters are mild.
Lonicera Gold Flame Honeysuckle is the recipient of both the Perfect for Pollinators badge and the prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by RHS.
Height and Spread of Lonicera Gold Flame Honeysuckle
