Ilex Koehneana Chestnut Leaf Holly grown as a Pleached Tree - this is a fast growing female holly (any nearby male will pollinate) with large sweet chestnut like leaves up to 15cm long. Glossy evergreen leaves offset the prolific crop of crimson berries later in the season. Renowned for being one of the best varieties for producing berries of all the hollies, this is one of the best crops you will see on any holly tree.
Ilex Koehneana will perform best in full sun it will reach between 4-8m over time and 2-4m wide. Prefering well drained soil but conveniently will grow on just about any soil type.
Pleached Shape - Our fabulous Chestnut leaf hollies have been expertly trained as a pleached tree with a single clear stem. The tree is trained using a frame which is very easy to trim occasionally to keep the shape.
