Hydrangea Madame Emile Mouillère is a macrophylla hydrangea which is native to Japan. They are deciduous, big leaved shrubs with large flowerheads that are grown across the world in many different cultivars.
Madame Emile Mouillere is a Hortensia cultivar with the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding features that include large green leaves and rounded heads of pure white flowers that develop a tinge of pink as they age. Its flowerheads are particularly long-lasting and cover the shrub for months. During winter, their skeletal dried flowerheads remain on the plant and bring structure to a bare winter garden.
This is an excellent hydrangea that gives plenty of interest for the majority of the year. A great choice for small gardens where every inch of space counts.

How To Use Hydrangea Madame Emile Mouillère

How To Care For Hydrangea Madame Emile Mouillère
Hydrangea Madame Emile Mouillère is easy to grow in most types of well-drained soil where it remains white but may blush pink in full sun. A partially sunny spot to a position in full sun is best and although it can cope with exposed spaces, some shelter will protect its flower heads.
Pruning isn’t necessary but on established shrubs, larger blooms emerge if a few of the older stems are removed at its base in early spring to reinvigorate the plant. Take care to remove only a few stems because hydrangeas flower on last year’s growth. Remove last year’s flower heads in spring, cutting down to the next strong bud and mulch with a thick layer of well-rotted organic matter.
Hydrangeas like water, so water it well until established and regularly throughout the year and during hot spells.
