Fagus Sylvatica Pendula
Commonly known as Weeping Beech, Fagus Sylvatica Pendula is a beautiful and elegant deciduous tree with a pendulous weeping habit. This weeping beech has wavy margined glossy dark green leaves, pale at first then turning darker green as the season progresses finally changing to yellow and orange-bronze in the autumn months. These are quality specimen trees with a maturity and height, a fabulous ornamental tree that can be planted as a focal point. These trees have a smooth greyish bark and produce flowers in summer followed by fruits in autumn that are loved by birds.
Fagus Sylvatica Pendula (weeping beech) can grow to approx 12m in height and 8m wide over 20 to 50 years so it is best to give it space. It can be clipped to a suitable height, making this a great choice of tree for city gardens and medium sized gardens.
Weeping Beech will grow in any well drained moist soil and prefers full sun or partial shade - this is a great all round tree that will add structure interest to your planting scheme.
