Cornus Florida F Rubra is also referred to as Cornus Florida Rubra
Most popularly known as Flowering Dogwood trees these are native to North America. A conical shaped deciduous tree with a spreading habit, this tree produces a stunning display of tiny green flower heads covered by 4 reddish-pink bracts with a white centre.
These flowers simply clothe the tree around May and the flowers are then followed by a host of red fruits that are simply adored by birds. The leaves are oval and curled with a reddish tint that changes to a vibrant green. As soon as autumn
arrives the tree puts on another show when the green leaves turn through orange to red before leaving the branches bare for the winter.
Our Cornus Rubra are mature specimens that will grow to a Max height and spread of 6-8m but can easily be clipped to suit your required shape and height. If you are interested in a Cornus for a very small garden try Cornus Florida Clear Moon.
Growing Tip: Cornus Florida F Rubra likes full sun or partial shade and a well drained, fertile, humus-rich-neutral to acid soil.
