These small yet elegant topiary trees are lollipop shaped atop a sturdy clear stem. Buxus Sempervirens is an evergreen shrub with small glossy leaves that lend themselves perfectly to trimming into any number of topiary shapes. Once they are trained into shape, they are very easy to maintain and for this reason Box Topiary heavily feature in the most famous Topiary gardens or Italinate garden designs . Buxus Sempervirens flowers in April and May, these are small yellowish flowers that form in the axil of the leaves and they are highly attractive to pollinators - this plant has been designated 'Perfect For Pollinators' by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society).
How To Grow Buxus Sempervirens
Box will tolerate most soil types as long as the soil is relatively moist and well drained. Conveniently thriving in most aspects, Buxus will grow well in either semi-shade or full sun - they will tolerate full shade but this will affect the growth rate.
How To Care For Box Topiary
A light trim of Box Topiary should be done twice a year, make the first trim in late Spring or early Summer, just after the first spurts of growth of the new season, they are easy to keep trimmed in this rounded lollipop shape. During the growing season, make sure they get plenty of water and feed using TopBuxus Grow during the growing season. Then trim again in Autumn to keep the plants in shape before they enter their dormant phase.
