Buddleja Davidii Butterfly Tower is a deciduous butterfly magnet shrub with rich purple-pink flowers in summer. It suits most spaces including difficult dry soil, hot borders, and chalky ground.

Buddleja Davidii is native to China and some parts of Japan. Buddleja was named after the English botanist Reverend Adam Buddle and the species Davidii after the French missionary Father Armand David. Buddleja was first sold in Europe in the 1890s so it has a long history in the UK and is naturalising in our wild spaces.

The cultivar Buddleja Davidii Butterfly Tower is loved for its upright growth habit and rich pink-purple flowerheads made from numerous tiny blooms. Its flowers appear in summer as long cones on the tips of new growth, but its grey-green foliage appears much earlier in spring.
