Acer Palmatum ' Chitoseyama' is also known as Japanese maple.
This beautiful variety is a mound forming tree with a weeping habit, a slow growing deciduous tree reaching a maximum of 2 metres in height and a spread of 3 metres. The Chitoseyama's stunning foliage is graceful and pendulous on its drooping branches, the colours are more understated than some varieties. At the beginning of the season the deep cut leaves are a dark purple becoming quite bronze in colour during the summer before turning to a rich red colour in the autumn.
Acer Palmatum Chitoseyama is a fully hardy cultivar and a top choice for year round interest. Prefers partial shade and will grow in an acid soil.
Planting Tip: Back-fill with soil mixed with peat substitute and a suitable fertiliser.
