Magnolia Stellata presents as a small tree or large shrub often referred to as the Star Magnolia - it is semi-evergreen and produces showy white, fragrant flowers in the Spring time around March-April and sometimes into early May if Spring has a slow start. It is semi-hardy and the blooms can be damaged by early frosts - it is a slow growing native to Japan.
Magnolia Stellata is loved for it's profuse and stunning white, lightly scented, star shaped flowers. Due to it's moderate growth speed and size this is a perfect choice for an urban, smaller sized, garden. It prefers neutral to slightly acid soil.
Also available to buy another Magnolia which would complement the Magnolia Stellata is Magnolia Heaven Scent this variety has pale pink and fragrant flowers.
