Rhododendron Silberwolke or Silver Cloud
Another of the Yak Hybrids originating from the Japanese Rhododendron Yakushimanum. These hybrids have rounded full trusses and are quite free flowering. They form nice, dome-shaped plants and are slow growing.
The variety Rhododendron Silberwolke is an evergreen rhododendron with flowers of very light purple with dappled spots of yellow-green late in the spring. They are borne in rounded trusses of up to 16 and contrast beautifully against the dark green foliage. Also known as Rhododendron Silver Cloud, this variety has a low-growing and spreading habit and can be grown in small gardens or containers. As a sign of its impressive performance in UK gardens, it has a prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the Royal Horticultural Society.
