Rosa Santana or Santana Climbing Rose also Hybrid Tea Rose Santana
Rosa Santana is a large-flowered deciduous climber that produces semi-double, deep red flowers. The blossoms are highly-decorative and produce a soft fragrance. The profusion of the scarlet red roses is borne in small clusters, perfectly contrasted by the dark green, glossy foliage. When open, the flowers measure between 8 and 10 centimetres each. Not unlike most hybrid tea roses, Santana Climbing Rose is a continuously blooming cultivar, which means you will get to enjoy its gorgeous flowers for the better part of the year. This is usually from early spring to late in the autumn. This variety is particularly resistant to downy mildew. It has average resistance when it comes to black spot. For the latter, preventative treatment is recommended for best results.
Height and Spread of Rosa Santana
A vigorous variety, Santana Climbing Rose will achieve a height of 2.5m and a spread of 2.5m after 2 to 5 years. This particular variety is well-suited to be grown in pots as it is fairly compact when mature.
How Hardy is Rosa Santana
First selected in Germany, this hybrid tea rose variety is hardy in the United Kingdom. However, winter protection is still recommended- be sure to take necessary steps to prevent frost from damaging this attractive climber.

How To Care For Rosa Santana
