We're delighted to add this relatively new variety of dwarf pine to our Conifer collection. A really fabulous little tree that has an incredible planting range, this is one tough cookie which will thrive in difficult conditions that would see off many other plants. This is a slow growing, dwarf conifer.
Selected by Swiss breeder Henri Bregeon, this is a cross between Pinus Nigra and Pinus Densiflora. The Dwarf Austrian Pine is a lovely compact evergreen tree that is easy to grow just about anywhere. Think of all those difficult places to put a tree - windy, coastal, sandy poor soil, full sun and dry conditions - what a valuable go-to tree this is.
Pinus Nigra Pierrick Bregeon will eventually reach a height and width of circa 3.5 to 4 feet, making a useful windbreak when planted as a low hedge. Grows in full sun and once settled need very little watering, their neat rotundity requires no pruning.
The dark green needle shaped leaves are evergreen and will withstand the strongest winds without getting leaf burn - great for contemporary roof terrace planting. In addition to its hardiness, Pinus Nigra Pierrick Bregeon is grown for its symmetrical globose shape and narrow, dark green needles.
