Pieris Japonica Little Heath is a very attractive compact variety of Pieris Japonica, these cultivars are very popular as ornamental, evergreen shrubs. Pieris Japonica Little Heath is particularly loved for its variegated dark green leaves with white margins. Unusually, Little Heath's flowers have pearl pink buds in Springtime which then emerge as small white flower panicles. This pink cloud of buds looks so elegant against the variegated foliage.

Japanese Pieris prefer full sun or partial shade in a sheltered position, they don't like extreme heat or cold, especially cold winds. Grow them in well drained moist acidic soil which will replicate their natural habitat - a woodland setting.
