Picea Abies Pygmaea
This beautiful conifer is commonly known as the Dwarf Norway Spruce, low growing and slow growing it is a popular miniature tree for use in rockeries, mixed borders and at the edge of woodland. This is an attractive evergreen option for the low growing section of a three tiered hedging design.
The neat yet irregular dome or globe shape is a dense mass of dark green branches with blue green pine needles. Dwarf Norway Spruce adores rich humus, well drained fertile soil. Since Picea Abies is so slow growing, an occasional light prune to keep in shape is all that's required.
Growing Tip:
Picea Abies Pygmaea will thrive in full sun or partial shade and is fully frost hardy.
