Phormium Yellow Wave is commonly known as the Flax Lily and is part of the group of plants known as New Zealand Flax. These ornamental grasses are very architectural and can add real dynamism to your garden design. Particularly to contemporary style gardens.
'Yellow Wave' is an evergreen perennial producing clumps of strappy variegated striped leaves that are vibrant green and bright yellow - it is very hardy, easy to grow and will occasionally reward you by producing panicles of dark red flowers in summer, which are quite splendid.
Phormium Yellow Wave prefers a sunny spot but will tolerate partial shade, all the New Zealand Flax plants grow well in windy and coastal areas which make them an ideal choice as a Roof Terrace plant.
