Phillyrea Angustifolia Pleached Tree
These mature Phillyrea Angustifolia Pleached trees have been formed using a frame approximately 1 metre width x 1 metre in height and have a 1.6 metre to 1.8 metre tall clear stem. These beautifully formed pleached trees are really useful as a screen to create a modern contemporary appearance in the garden. Pleached trees work particularly well as above fence or hedge screening when planted in a row.
These particular Pleached Trees are Phillyrea Angustifolia (also known as Jasmine Box). Phillyrea Angustifolia, enormously popular 200 years ago although quite rare today, is an evergreen tree originating from the Mediterranean and a member of the Olive family. It has dark green foliage with narrow leaves reaching to 6 cm long. Jasmine Box produces small clusters of fragrant off-white flowers in the leaf axils in late spring and early summer.
