Bay Tree Topiary in a Cone Shape
These topiary specimens are mature bay tree topiary plants in a cone shape, also referred to as Pyramid Bay Trees.
Evergreen Laurus Nobilis (common name Bay) is easy to trim and makes very smart topiary shapes. Bayleaf is also easy to maintain and can be used for cooking. Fairly drought tolerant it requires minimal watering and is therefore excellent to keep in pots. Trim lightly once or twice a year - usually June and August to keep the shape. Feed with all-purpose feed three times a year.
One of the oldest plants in cultivation, Laurus Nobilis or the noble Bay is very often used as a topiary plant. It holds it shape excellently and lends itself well to trimming and shaping.
A pair of these mature cone-shaped topiary bat trees make an ideal choice for framing a prominent entrance border or along your patio. Used to adorn a patio or terrace and they can be managed well in containers. Make sure to water well in warm spells.
The Bay Laurel has beautiful aromatic dark green leaves, which can be both dried and used fresh for culinary purposes.
