This Acer Inaba Shidare is over 40 years old and is truly rare to find and a once in a lifetime find for us. In 30 years of sourcing Acers, this is the first time we’ve ever found specimens of this variety of this age.
This variety of Japanese maple is prized for its striking dark purple-red foliage in the summer and even more spectacular crimson colour in the autumn.
It is not a large tree typically growing to around 2-3 metres in height and width. It’s also a very easy tree to grow being very disease and pest resistant. For the best results position it in a well-drained moist soil in a partial to fully sunny position. Avoid exposure to strong wind.
