Friendly Fungi Compost - Sustainable Peat-Free Compost
Paramount Plants & Gardens, working together with some of the world's leading microbiologists, has come up with a unique blend of wood-based compost. Friendly Fungi Compost is mixed with hardwood chips to produce compost that is guaranteed to feed and encourage friendly fungi and a complete soil food web both essential to healthy and drought-resistant plants.
Characteristics of Friendly Fungi Compost:
This is 100% peat-free compost that is made locally and sustainably in cooperation with local farmers. This compost is the only product to use when you are serious about making sure that the fungi to bacteria ratio is very heavily weighted in the favour of friendly fungi which when abundantly present in the soil means new plantings are able to establish themselves faster and there is minimal weed growth. No weeds can grow in fungi-rich soil.
Uses of Friendly Fungi Compost:
Use it as you would use a regular compost or as a mulch. When used as a compost, mix generous amounts with soil being dug out or over. When used as a mulch apply at least a 10cm layer over your soil any time of the year. Reapply once the microbiology has consumed it all. Regular applications as a mulch results in the highest quality soil your garden could need. Fungi-rich soil represents the highest evolutionary stage that soil can achieve.
