Rhododendron Nancy Evans Yakushimanum (AGM)
One of the best Rhododendron hybrids of this colour, Rhododendron Nancy Evans produces an abundance of yellow flowers with a hint of orange on the outer petals. The impressive flowers, that begin life as orange buds, are funnel-shaped and appear on perfectly rounded large trusses of 19 around the beginning of May.
Rhododendron Nancy Evans has evergreen foliage – narrow, lush, glossy mid-green leaves that are a lovely bronze colour when young.
This beautiful Rhododendron hybrid is a dense compact shrub. A semi-dwarf variety, Rhododendron Nancy Evans will not get as big as some hybrids and therefore ideal for smaller gardens and / or containers. You can expect a height of maximum 1.5 metres and 1.6 metres in width over a 10 year period.
This Rhododendron likes acidic soil and partial shade. It does need to have very good drainage.
To look after your Rhododendron, you need to regularly apply both a good mulch and regular ericaceous feeding, especially when the plant is in bloom.
