Eucalyptus Glaucescens is a member of the Myrtle family, an Australian native commonly known as the Tingiringi Gum tree. A very attractive  & fast-growing evergreen, the Eucalyptus Glaucescens trees grows naturally in a conical shape which is extremly hardy down to -18 degrees! The beautiful foliage is highly aromatic when crushed and the young leaves are silvery blue in colour. These trees have two distinct foliage displays - the juvenile trees have silver/grey rounded leaves with a tinge of pink. As the trees develop and mature, the leaves become lanceolate and grey green in colour. The cream coloured flowers which appear in Autumn have a deliciously sweet perfume.

Eucalyptus Glaucascens (Eucalyptus Tree) is a fast growing tree and is great for instant evergreen screening. The leaves are loved by florists - they make beautful foliage in floral displays.

Height and Spread of Eucalyptus Glaucescens
While not invasive, Tingiringi Gum Tree is very fast-growing (up to 2 metres of growth per year). If left unchecked, this eucalyptus tree could achieve a height of 12 to 20 metres.

How Hardy is Eucalyptus Glaucescens
This Australian native is very tough- it is fully hardy in the United Kingdom and can survive temperatures as low as -18 degrees Celsius!

How To Use Eucalyptus Glaucescens
The Tingiringi Gum Tree is a fast growing tree and, as such, is great for instant evergreen screening. Plant it en masse to create a privacy display with year-round interest without having to wait for it to reach perfect size for years. But evergreen screening is not the only thing that Tingiringi Gum is ideal for. The elegant conical growth habit of the Tingiringi Gum, as well as its unusual and striking evergreen foliage, make this tree perfect for the spotlight, so it is often grown as a specimen tree.

How To Care for Eucalyptus Glaucescens
Robust and adaptable, Tingiringi Gum will not need special conditions to thrive. These eucalyptus trees do well in full sun, in an exposed location and will flourish in almost any type of soil. Eucalyptus Glaucescens does not ask much in terms of care- it even needs little to no pruning. This cultivar responds well to coppicing.
