Thuja Occidentalis Smaragd, originating from Canada is an evergreen conifer with a naturally conical shape and a very attractive light, almost luminous, emerald green colour which it keeps all year round. The beautiful foliage is also highly fragrant and the new growth tends to have a golden hue in the spring.
If you need an instant hedge, the fact that these trees are really quite mature, all standing well over 2 metres tall, means you get an instantaneous hedge, border or screen in your garden. As an evergreen hedge, Thuja Occidentalis Smaragd trees work very well, not least due to their naturally dense and compact growing habit and their upright conical shape. Minimal trimming is required, and that will be mainly on top.
Right now, we have many sizes available, all over two metres and all on special offer when you buy 10 Trees – check out these great Thuja Hedging offers now. Our Thuja Smaragd Trees for Hedging are available as rootballed (seasonality depending) and / or as regular potted hedging plants.
These Thuja Occidentalis Smaragd, also known White Cedar Smaragd are rootballed (meaning they are supplied without a pot). During the winter months while the trees are dormant and the root systems not growing, mature trees in particular can be safely lifted from the earth minimising any shock effects to the tree (read our blog post on Rootballed Trees).
