Ilex Crenata Topiary Spirals
Native to Japan, Ilex Crenata has small round green leaves, not dissimilar to box plants (also a popular choice for topiary).
Slow-growing and compact, Ilex Crenata is ideal for topiary. The new growth is a pale green and contrasts beautifully with the darker older foliage.
Ilex Crenata Spirals (Japanese Holly Spirals) are surprisingly easy to maintain, requiring trimming once to twice per year to keep them in shape, ideally in May and again in September. With Ilex Crenata, you will get away with a once a year clip if twice proves too much.
